JazzZ, Eye Traveler - Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli is a sonic journey into self-belief, spiritual grounding, and creative refuge. Rooted in the emotional depth of the blues and stretched across abstract, Hip-Hop-leaning soundscapes, the project is my personal meditation on identity and transformation. Every beat was crafted by L.A.-based producer Eye Traveler, who reached out after hearing my project ABSINTHE. Despite the distance, we found a powerful synergy and began building the album in late 2023.

The title draws from my love of the color blue and the ancient mysticism of the Lapis Lazuli stone—prized in Egyptian spirituality for its link to inner truth and enlightenment. Just like the stone, this project became a mirror, revealing parts of myself I hadn’t seen before.

Lapis Lazuli is inspired by Egyptian myth and West African spirituality, channeling the pain and poetry of the blues into something raw, reflective, and deeply personal. It's more than music—it's a ritual, a revelation, and a reminder that healing often sounds like a beat wrapped in blue.
